As a commercial litigator, Craig represents businesses and individuals in a variety of business disputes including breach of contract, replevin, collection, shareholder disputes, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, deceptive trade practices, fraud, misrepresentation, and business torts. 

As a labor and employment lawyer, Craig represents both employers and individual employees in matters involving executive compensation, employee handbooks, employment contracts, breach of contract, unpaid wages and commissions, termination of sales representatives, non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, MHRA, Title VII, DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, and whistleblower disputes.

Craig routinely represents both employers and individuals before the state and federal courts, the EEOC, the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, the Minneapolis Civil Rights Department, the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development, and other administrative agencies in breach of employment contract, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, non-competition, and unemployment compensation claims, charges and lawsuits.  

He regularly advises employers on corporate restructuring, compliance with WARN Act and state plant closing legislation, reductions-in-force (RIFs), and layoffs.  Mr. Trepanier prepares and negotiates separation agreements and severance packages for both employers and employees.

Mr. Trepanier prepares employee handbooks and a variety of company policies, including EEO policies, sexual harassment policies, FMLA policies, and computer usage and Internet monitoring policies.  He has extensive experience drafting DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing policies and litigating claims under the Minnesota Drug & Alcohol Testing in the Workplace Act.


Craig routinely lectures on business and employment law topics ranging from non-compete agreements to employee handbooks and drug testing in the workplace.
